Being a Christian is often a two sided coin.  On one hand you have Joy and Celebration from the Triumphs God has given you.  On the flip-side there is often pain and discipline and almighty correction.  We don’t like to think about the tail end side of the quarter because it makes us feel uncomfortable.  We’d much rather praise God when we find ourselves on a mountain peak and we are feeling good about life.  Yet, it is often when God allows us to go through messy stuff and feel the pain of our rebellion that the door of confession and repentance restores our soul.  God just might gift us with sorrow and remorse as a way of seeing our blemishes against the backdrop of his holy perfection so that we will cry out to him.
